Plot OutlineNeha (Avika Gor) loses her parents at a young age and is raised by her uncle. Her cousin, Karthik (Nandu), develops a disturbing childhood attachment to her and becomes deeply obsessed with the idea of marrying her. Though Neha loves another man named Gautam, societal pressure and family expectations force her into a marriage with Karthik. Once they are wed, Karthik's obsessive behavior and emotional abuse completely upend Neha's life, forcing her into a desperate fight for survival.

Story :
Avika Gor plays Neha, a young woman who loses her parents at an early age. Her uncle takes her in and raises her as his own daughter. However, his son Karthik develops an unhealthy obsession with Neha from childhood.

Neha, on the other hand, falls in love with a young man named Gautham. When Karthik discovers this, his mental instability grows even worse. Circumstances take an unexpected turn, and Neha is eventually forced to marry Karthik.

From that moment, her life becomes a living hell.

How far do Karthik's psychological and physical abuses go in the name of marital rights? What consequences does his psychopathic mentality lead to? And what is the bloody climax that unfolds in the end? The rest of the story revolves around these questions.

Review :
Director Pranav Swarup chooses a sensitive subject and attempts to highlight the importance of consent in marriage.
However, the first half spends a considerable amount of time focusing on Karthik's psychotic behavior. As a result, several scenes feel repetitive, giving the impression that the story is moving in circles rather than progressing.
The film gains momentum after the interval. The conflict intensifies, and the emotional tension between the characters becomes much more engaging.
The movie also makes a sincere effort to portray the suffering women endure in toxic relationships. Some scenes are likely to resonate strongly with female viewers.

Performances :
Nandu delivers a convincing performance as the psychotic husband. His expressions, body language, and aggressive behavior effectively bring the character to life.
Avika Gor shines in the emotional sequences. Her portrayal of a woman living in constant fear is both believable and impactful.
Shivaji Raja appears in a familiar role and performs well, while Ravi Teja Mahadasyam does justice to his character.

Technical Aspects :
The background score enhances the impact of several key scenes, and the cinematography complements the dark mood of the story.
That said, a sharper screenplay could have made the film even more effective and engaging.

Verdict :
Ugly Story is not a regular commercial entertainer. It is a serious film that explores themes such as toxic love, obsession, and consent.
While the first half feels somewhat slow, the second half and climax make it worth a watch.
