Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is a 2026 Hindi-language thriller film directed by Manoj Tapadia and co-produced by Kangana Ranaut, who also stars in the lead role. Based on true events during the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the movie tells the story of the nurses and frontline hospital staff who bravely protected patients at Cama Hospital.

We've seen many films about the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. We've seen stories centered around the Taj Hotel... we've seen films about CST... but have you ever heard the story of the 25 nurses who helped save more than 400 lives on that same night?
Everyone talked about those who lost their lives... but very few spoke about the people who saved them.

The story is based on real incidents that took place at Cama Hospital during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Kangana Ranaut plays Geeta Madhav, a senior nurse. She and her fellow nurses share a close bond and function like a family. The first half naturally portrays their everyday lives—hospital duties, patients, and small moments of joy.

But one night changes everything.
News breaks that gunfire has erupted near the Taj Hotel. At first, it feels like a distant incident. But soon, Ajmal Kasab and Abu Ismail make their way toward Cama Hospital.
From that point onward, the film shifts completely into survival mode.
There are newborn babies in the hospital... critically ill patients... and terrorists roaming outside. The core of the story revolves around how 25 nurses and hospital staff found the courage to save hundreds of lives under such terrifying circumstances.

It's about ordinary people who are afraid... yet refuse to abandon their responsibilities.

The first half may feel a little slow because it spends considerable time exploring the nurses' personal lives, relationships, and daily routines. However, that setup pays off well in the second half and enhances the emotional impact.

Once the terrorists reach the hospital, the tension becomes genuinely gripping. Every corridor... every room... every decision feels dangerous.

Instead of relying on action sequences or excessive violence, the director successfully creates suspense and fear through atmosphere and uncertainty.

Coming to the performances...
Kangana Ranaut appears in a genuinely substantial role after a long time. Her performance is restrained and believable. She doesn't come across as a typical movie heroine; she genuinely feels like a nurse.

There are some pacing issues in places. A few scenes in the first half could have been crisper. The climax also contains a few moments that feel slightly melodramatic.

However, these flaws never become major distractions.
That's because the film's intentions feel sincere and genuine.
The dialogue, "Everyone talked about the Taj... everyone talked about Leopold... but nobody talked about the nurses who saved lives at Cama Hospital," perfectly sums up the entire film.

Coming to the final verdict...

This movie is a sincere attempt to bring a forgotten chapter of history to the audience.
By presenting the 26/11 tragedy from a different perspective, it serves as an emotional survival drama and a tribute to the unsung heroes—the nurses.
