We've seen many films about the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. We've seen stories centered around the Taj Hotel... we've seen films about CST... but have you ever heard the story of the 25 nurses who helped save more than 400 lives on that same night?
Everyone talked about those who lost their lives... but very few spoke about the people who saved them.

The story is based on real incidents that took place at Cama Hospital during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Kangana Ranaut plays Geeta Madhav, a senior nurse. She and her fellow nurses share a close bond and function like a family. The first half naturally portrays their everyday lives—hospital duties, patients, and small moments of joy.

But one night changes everything.
News breaks that gunfire has erupted near the Taj Hotel. At first, it feels like a distant incident. But soon, Ajmal Kasab and Abu Ismail make their way toward Cama Hospital.
From that point onward, the film shifts completely into survival mode.
There are newborn babies in the hospital... critically ill patients... and terrorists roaming outside. The core of the story revolves around how 25 nurses and hospital staff found the courage to save hundreds of lives under such terrifying circumstances.

It's about ordinary people who are afraid... yet refuse to abandon their responsibilities.

The first half may feel a little slow because it spends considerable time exploring the nurses' personal lives, relationships, and daily routines. However, that setup pays off well in the second half and enhances the emotional impact.

Once the terrorists reach the hospital, the tension becomes genuinely gripping. Every corridor... every room... every decision feels dangerous.

Instead of relying on action sequences or excessive violence, the director successfully creates suspense and fear through atmosphere and uncertainty.

Coming to the performances...
Kangana Ranaut appears in a genuinely substantial role after a long time. Her performance is restrained and believable. She doesn't come across as a typical movie heroine; she genuinely feels like a nurse.

There are some pacing issues in places. A few scenes in the first half could have been crisper. The climax also contains a few moments that feel slightly melodramatic.

However, these flaws never become major distractions.
That's because the film's intentions feel sincere and genuine.
The dialogue, "Everyone talked about the Taj... everyone talked about Leopold... but nobody talked about the nurses who saved lives at Cama Hospital," perfectly sums up the entire film.

Coming to the final verdict...

This movie is a sincere attempt to bring a forgotten chapter of history to the audience.
By presenting the 26/11 tragedy from a different perspective, it serves as an emotional survival drama and a tribute to the unsung heroes—the nurses.

Director Imtiaz Ali is known for stories built around journeys. But this time, the journey he presents is not on roads—it is through memories, inside the heart of a refugee.

The story follows Keenu, an elderly man in the final stage of his life. A stroke has left his body weak and his speech impaired. But his mind remains trapped in 1947.
His ancestral hometown, Sargodha, now lies in Pakistan. He repeatedly expresses his desire to return there one last time.
His grandson, Nirvair, is a young man in London struggling to find his own identity. While caring for his grandfather, he uncovers a 78-year-old family secret that had been buried for decades.

From that point onward, the film transforms into an emotional time machine.

In the flashback portions, we see a young Keenu deeply in love with a girl named Jia. Their romance is beautiful, innocent, and full of hope. But the tragedy of Partition suddenly tears their lives apart.
A line is drawn on a map.
But that line does not merely divide two nations—it also separates two hearts.
One of the things I appreciated most about the film is that it does not approach Partition from a political perspective. It does not get caught up in debates about who was right and who was wrong.
Instead, it focuses on how hatred is born and how history can destroy the lives of ordinary people.

Coming to the performances, Naseeruddin Shah is undoubtedly the soul of the film.
He portrays old age, pain, regret, and love with remarkable depth. In several scenes, his expressions speak louder than any dialogue, making a profound emotional impact.
Diljit Dosanjh also delivers a restrained and effective performance. He fits perfectly into a role that resonates strongly with younger audiences.
Sharvari Wagh brings freshness to every scene she appears in. She carries the playful charm often associated with Imtiaz Ali’s female characters with ease and grace.

However, Vedang Raina, who plays the younger version of Keenu, feels somewhat underwhelming. The emotional depth and maturity needed to convincingly evolve into Naseeruddin Shah’s older character are not fully evident in his performance.

The music deserves special mention as well.
A.R. Rahman attempts to blend Punjabi soul with his signature musical style. Not every song leaves a lasting impression, but the background score beautifully enhances the film’s themes of longing, pain, and separation.

Overall, Main Vaapas Aaunga is much more than a love story.

It is the story of a refugee’s tears.
It is the story of people separated by history.
It is the story of memories that refuse to fade, even after decades.
Most importantly, in an era increasingly marked by division and hatred, it is a film that speaks about empathy, humanity, and healing.

What if, in a village, every word people spoke came out not as speech, but as a song?
Was it a curse? A miracle? Or a warning from nature against human greed?
Today, we are reviewing the movie Sing Geetham.

First, let's talk about the story...

After being released from prison, a young man named Pratap receives documents related to property left behind by his father. In search of those assets, he travels to a village called Kuberapuram, where he learns that his father owned a private gold mine.

Meanwhile, Renu, the daughter of another mine owner in the village, wants to sell the mines to foreign investors. Pratap, who initially comes only for money, shares a similar mindset.

However, things begin to change after he meets Gauri, a young woman fighting to protect the last remaining tree in the village.

One day, while trying to stop the tree from being cut down, Gauri accidentally falls into Kubera's cave. Soon after, a strange curse falls upon the villagers.

From that moment on, every word they speak comes out in the form of a song.

Why did this curse occur?
How do the villagers overcome it?
What is the secret hidden behind the gold mine?
What is Pratap's past?

To find answers to these questions, you'll have to watch the movie.

Now, coming to the analysis...
The biggest attraction of this film is undoubtedly Singeetam Srinivasa Rao's experiment.
Usually, films contain a few songs. But here, almost the entire movie unfolds through songs. Even the dialogues are delivered in rhythm and tune.
This offers a completely fresh experience for Telugu audiences.

Within the first 20 minutes, the film neatly establishes the characters, the village, and the gold mine backdrop. Once the concept of people speaking through songs begins, the movie enters an entirely different zone.

The first half is largely driven by comedy, and several scenes genuinely make you laugh. However, because the same concept continues for a long time, the film occasionally feels a bit repetitive and slow.

The interval block is fairly simple.
The second half introduces more emotional depth. Pratap's flashback and the history of the village add substance to the story.
However, the climax feels somewhat overdramatic. Also, a few important questions remain unanswered.

Why exactly was Pratap sent to prison?
What did his father actually do?
If such a huge gold mine existed, why didn't the government take notice?

These logical questions linger in the audience's mind.

That said, the film's message is commendable.
The way it addresses themes like human greed, environmental destruction, and nature conservation through a fantasy backdrop is quite impressive.

Coming to the performances...
Newcomer Ahalya Bamroo delivers a very natural performance and connects well during emotional scenes.
Ayaan also gives a decent performance that suits his character.
Shalini Kondepudi impresses in her role with negative shades.

Special appearances by Rahul Ravindran, Nivetha Pethuraj, Vijay Deverakonda, and Anudeep come as pleasant surprises for the audience.

DSP handles that enormous responsibility brilliantly.
Though some tunes may remind audiences of his earlier works, his music is what truly holds the film together.
