⁣हिन्दू शास्त्रों और वास्तु शास्त्र के अनुसार, घर का मंदिर सकारात्मक ऊर्जा का केंद्र और 'घर का हृदय' होता है, लेकिन कुछ देवी-देवताओं की मूर्तियों का साथ होना ऊर्जा के प्रवाह में टकराव पैदा कर सकता है:
शनि देव और हनुमान जी: इन दोनों की ऊर्जाएं एक-दूसरे के विपरीत मानी जाती हैं। जहाँ हनुमान जी को परम रक्षक माना जाता है, वहीं शनि देव का प्रभाव व्यक्ति पर कर्मफल और कठिन परीक्षाओं (जैसे साढ़े साती या ढैया) के रूप में होता है। चूँकि हनुमान जी की पूजा शनि के नकारात्मक प्रभावों को कम करने के लिए की जाती है, इसलिए उनकी ऊर्जाएं एक-दूसरे को संतुलित करने वाली और परीक्षण करने वाली होती हैं। यदि शनि देव की मूर्ति घर में रखी जाए, तो उन्हें हनुमान जी से अलग रखा जाना चाहिए।
देवी-देवताओं के उग्र रूप: देवताओं के क्रोधित या उग्र रूपों वाली मूर्तियाँ या चित्र रखने से बचना चाहिए। ऐसी मूर्तियाँ 'शांत समृद्धि' और 'बाधाओं के विनाश' के बीच कंपन का टकराव (Clashing vibrations) पैदा करती हैं, जो घर के वातावरण को प्रभावित कर सकता है।
दो शिवलिंग: एक ही मंदिर में दो अलग-अलग शिवलिंग रखना शुभ नहीं माना जाता है, क्योंकि इससे ऊर्जा का असंतुलन पैदा हो सकता है। हालांकि, अर्धनारीश्वर या पारिवारिक शिवलिंग जैसे विशेष रूपों को रखा जा सकता है।
एक ही देवता की कई मूर्तियाँ: स्रोत यह भी बताते हैं कि एक ही मंदिर में एक ही देवता की एक से अधिक मूर्तियाँ या चित्र नहीं होने चाहिए।
