After watching this series, one thought stayed with me: you don’t always need gore to show how terrifying the evil within human beings can be.

Set in Delhi, 1978, the story revolves around two teenagers—Suman and Sahil, a brother and sister. One ordinary day, they step out of their home... but never return.

What follows is a horrific crime that shakes the entire nation... the two ruthless individuals behind it... and the investigation carried out to bring them to justice.

That is the central plot of Raakh.
But what makes Raakh special isn’t just the story—it’s the way the story is told.

The first two episodes genuinely test your patience. The series moves at a very slow pace. At times, you may even wonder, “When is it finally going to get to the point?”

However, the payoff for this slow-burn approach is absolutely brilliant.
Once you become fully invested in the story, every episode becomes more uncomfortable... more intense... and more emotionally draining.
What I loved most about this series is that it doesn’t portray the victims merely as victims.

They had dreams... they had families... they had futures...
And the series makes sure the audience connects with them on a personal level.
That’s why when the tragedy unfolds, we don’t just watch it happen—we genuinely feel the pain.

Coming to the performances...

Ali Fazal once again proves his acting strength with a restrained and controlled performance as the investigating officer.

But the real surprise packages are Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir.

The way Sonali portrays a mother’s grief with such subtlety... and the way Aamir Bashir conveys a father’s helplessness with heartbreaking sincerity... is truly remarkable.

In some scenes, it doesn’t even feel like you’re watching actors perform.
As for the villains, Akash Makhija and Ramandeep Yadav are genuinely terrifying.

That said, the series isn’t perfect.
Some female characters deserved more importance and development.
The journalist character could have been written much more effectively.
And the slow pacing may definitely frustrate certain viewers.
But overall...
Raakh is not a series you binge-watch casually.

It’s not the kind of content you put on in the background while scrolling through your phone.
It demands your full attention.
Because this is more than entertainment...
It’s a deeply disturbing experience.

The series powerfully explores the darker corners of society, the cruelty hidden within human beings, and the unimaginable pain a family endures after a devastating tragedy.

Final Verdict :
If you enjoy slow-burn crime dramas, powerful performances, and emotionally heavy storytelling, then this is a series you should definitely watch.

But Disclosure Day, directed by Steven Spielberg, doesn't go down any of those paths.

This is not an alien movie...
It's a question.
A secret.
And the idea that if that secret is revealed, every truth we believe in could come crashing down.

The story follows Daniel Kellner, a cyber security specialist, and Margaret Fairchild, a meteorologist, as they try to uncover a terrifying truth that has been hidden from humanity for nearly 80 years.

Standing in their way is Wardex, a powerful corporate organization.
But what exactly is this secret?
Could the truth about aliens bring down governments around the world?
Could it change people's faith in religion?
Or could it force humanity to question its very existence?
These questions drive the entire film forward.

Usually, Spielberg's films blend entertainment, emotion, and spectacle.
But Disclosure Day is completely different.
Here, the director isn't trying to impress the audience.
He simply tells the story he wants to tell.
That's why this film may not work for everyone.
Because it isn't a fast-paced commercial thriller.
It's a slow-burn mystery.
A philosophical sci-fi thriller that explores the conflict between government secrets, human nature, faith, religion, and science.

The world-building is excellent.
Every clue and every conversation feels like it is hiding something much bigger beneath the surface.
The train action sequence in the middle of the film is genuinely fantastic.
It once again reminds us why Spielberg is considered a master filmmaker.
At the same time, the film's greatest strength is also its biggest weakness.

The director takes a very long time to provide answers.
He spends nearly two hours building the mystery.
At certain points, it even feels like the audience's patience is being tested.
It's natural to wonder:
"Will all this buildup actually be worth it?"

However, by the time the climax arrives, Spielberg's true intention becomes clear.
This isn't a story about an alien invasion.
It's a story about humanity.
About the truths we choose to believe.
About the battle between faith and logic.
That said, the climax may not satisfy everyone.
Because by the time the movie ends, it feels as though the real story is only just beginning.
Yet that ending stays in your mind long after the credits roll.

When it comes to performances, Emily Blunt is the backbone of this film.
Her screen presence and emotional depth carry the movie throughout.
Josh O'Connor also delivers a strong performance.
But in the end, it's Emily Blunt's character that leaves the strongest impression.

Overall...
Disclosure Day is not a film made for mass audiences.
If you're looking for immediate thrills, you may be disappointed.
But for viewers who enjoy mystery, philosophy, and slow-burn storytelling, this is a unique experience.
It may not feel like a masterpiece the moment you finish watching it.

But after the credits roll...
A few hours later...
Or even a few days later...
You'll start to understand what the film was really trying to say.
And that's Spielberg's magic.

Disclosure Day is an imperfect but fascinating sci-fi thriller.

That is exactly the feeling that the movie Backrooms plants inside your mind for two and a half hours.
In most horror films, you see a monster...
You see a ghost...
You see a villain.
But in Backrooms, the real horror comes from something entirely different...
The fact that you don’t see anything at all.

The story revolves around a man named Clark. Feeling like a complete failure in life, Clark spends his days working and living around his furniture store. One day, he accidentally discovers a strange world beneath the store.
It isn’t an underground tunnel...
It isn’t a secret basement...
It’s an endless maze filled with yellow corridors, empty rooms, and bizarre hallways.

That place is called the Backrooms.

At first, it looks like an old office building. But the deeper you go, the more everything feels wrong.

A man was diagnosed with cancer. Doctors told him, "You only have a few days left to live."
But days passed... months passed... even years went by...
Yet, he never died.
That single premise is enough to create curiosity around the film Rao Bahadur.

From this teaser alone, it feels like director Venkatesh Maha has stepped completely out of his comfort zone and ventured into something very different.
Usually, a teaser gives you a hint about the story, introduces the hero, or establishes the central conflict.
But the teaser of Rao Bahadur does none of that.
Instead, it tries to take us directly into the mind of a character.
Right from the beginning, Satya Dev's character feels incredibly intriguing.
An elderly man suffering from terminal liver cancer...
A man who is supposed to die...
But death never seems to reach him.
Why?
What happened in his past?
What is he hiding?
Or is what we're seeing even real?
The teaser subtly raises many such questions.

One of the most interesting aspects is its non-linear narration.
At one moment, we see the character in old age...
The next moment, we see him in his youth...
There are glimpses of a love story...
Some emotional incidents...
A few disturbing moments...
The teaser presents everything like fragmented memories, keeping the audience completely engaged.

We also need to talk about Satya Dev's performance.
This genuinely feels like one of the most challenging roles of his career.
It's not just the physical transformation.
The expressions...
The body language...
The tired eyes...
You can feel the character's pain in almost every frame.
In some shots, it's difficult to tell whether he's in reality or lost in his imagination.
That ambiguity becomes one of the teaser's biggest strengths.

Female lead Deepa Thomas also makes a brief appearance and leaves a decent impression.

Coming to the technical aspects, production designer Rohan Singh appears to have created a very natural and believable world.
Nothing feels artificial.
Everything looks lived-in and authentic.
Cinematographer Kartik Parmar's visuals elevate the mood of the teaser to another level.
The dark tones, realistic frames, and subtle camera work all support the emotional core of the story.
But perhaps the biggest surprise is the background score.

Composer Smaran Sai creates a haunting atmosphere throughout the teaser.
Even after the teaser ends, that mood lingers in your mind.
That's exactly what a good psychological drama teaser should do.

As for Venkatesh Maha, he is handling the responsibilities of writer, editor, and director simultaneously.
From what we see here, he seems determined to bring his vision to the screen without compromise.
That's why Rao Bahadur feels less like a regular commercial entertainer and more like a character-driven psychological drama.

There are no mass elevations.
No hero-worship moments.
No routine commercial elements.
And that's exactly what makes this project feel special.

Overall, after watching the Rao Bahadur teaser, one thing became very clear to me:
This is a film driven by its character rather than its story.
A film that asks questions instead of providing easy answers.
A film that aims to deliver an experience rather than just entertainment.
