When powerful ocean currents collide and start rotating in a circular motion, they can create a massive spinning vortex in the sea. This whirlpool can pull water, waves, and sometimes even ships toward its center.
For centuries, sailors have reported seeing huge whirlpools during storms in the open ocean. These swirling water formations can become extremely dangerous if a ship sails too close to them.
