वह पलटा—कोई नहीं।
तभी ज़मीन पर उसकी ही परछाईं दिखी… जो हिल नहीं रही थी।
डर के मारे वह भागा। सुबह गाँव वालों ने पीपल के नीचे रामू की चप्पलें पाईं।
