एक छोटे से गाँव में टॉमी नाम का प्यारा सा कुत्ता रहता था।
एक दिन नदी के पास खेलते हुए एक बच्चा अचानक पानी में गिर जाता है। टॉमी जोर-जोर से भौंककर लोगों को बताने की कोशिश करता है, लेकिन लोग समझते हैं कि वह बच्चों को परेशान कर रहा है और उसे डाँट देते हैं।
जब सच्चाई सामने आती है कि टॉमी तो बच्चे की जान बचाने की कोशिश कर रहा था, तब सभी को अपनी गलती का एहसास होता है।
आखिर में पूरा गाँव टॉमी से माफी माँगता है और उसे अपना हीरो बना लेता है।
यह कहानी हमें सिखाती है कि किसी को बिना समझे गलत नहीं समझना चाहिए।
