Stag beetles are one of the most fascinating insects in the world. They are famous for their large antler-like jaws, which look similar to the horns of a deer. These beetles use their powerful jaws mainly to fight with other males during the mating season.
Stag beetles are usually found in forests and wooded areas, and their larvae live inside decaying wood for several years before becoming adults. Despite their scary appearance, they are harmless to humans and play an important role in nature by helping to recycle dead wood.स्टैग बीटल (Stag Beetle) दुनिया के सबसे रोचक कीड़ों में से एक है। इसके बड़े-बड़े जबड़े हिरण के सींग जैसे दिखाई देते हैं, इसलिए इसे स्टैग बीटल कहा जाता है। नर स्टैग बीटल अपने शक्तिशाली जबड़ों का उपयोग दूसरे नर से लड़ने के लिए करते हैं, खासकर प्रजनन के समय।
ये कीड़े आमतौर पर जंगलों और पेड़ों वाले क्षेत्रों में पाए जाते हैं। इनके लार्वा कई साल तक सड़ी-गली लकड़ी (decaying wood) के अंदर रहते हैं और फिर बड़े होकर बीटल बनते हैं।
डरावने दिखने के बावजूद स्टैग बीटल मनुष्यों के लिए हानिकारक नहीं होते और प्रकृति में सड़ी लकड़ी को नष्ट करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं।
